10 weeks old

~We still go to Baby Rhyme Time at the Library.  He loves it!

~He has started touching his fact a lot, like he knows it's there now! It's frustrating when we're trying to feed him. :)

~He is no longer breastfed.  We stopped this week.  He wasn't getting enough and we were having to give him formula anyway, and I couldn't keep up with him by pumping.  We know he got a lot of good stuff from my milk for his first 2 months!  No more guilt or frustrations. Maybe the next baby will latch!! :)

~He loves to "dance", but laying on his back and flailing his arms and legs.  We think he's close to rolling over!

~Colin has started to realize that he has hands, and they are for touching things!  I caught him looking at his fist as a finger went up and down the other day.  Love that he just started at it.

~On Thursday, we had our first PAT (Parents as Teachers) visit.  If you are unfamiliar with this program, Google it!  If you have children under 3, or are pregnant, you can get on the waiting list for visits.  It is a great program.  Here is a link to the site for info... :) PAT
They'll visit once a month until Colin is 3 years old!

~On Friday, our friends Sallie and Liz came to visit!  They are friends from Germany.  The girls were student teachers at my school in the spring of 2011.  We had a great time visiting, checking out Aggieville, and going to the Pumpkin Patch.  It was so fun having them here, such great helpers! :)

~This week, Zach's grandpa and grandpa Marlow passed away.  His grandfather on Monday, and his grandma followed him on Friday.  They had been in a nursing home and hospice had been with them for a few days.  They were ready, but that fact made it no less sad.  Luckily Colin was able to meet his paternal great grandparents before they passed!  Mosie and Della Marlow had been married for 66 years, and were only apart for 4 days.  On Saturday, the family (6 children, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren!) and friends gathered to celebrate their lives.  Though it was sad to mourn the lives of Zach's grandparents and Grandma Sarah's parents, it was a wonderful time to tell and hear old stories, and to spend time with family from near and far.

~Uncle Justin and Uncle Phil came to town for the funerals, we Colin was able to spend time with them.

~Sunday we went to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out Colin's first pumpkin!  Zach strapped Colin in the Bjorn and we rode a hay rack ride to the patch.  After picking out a pumpkin, we followed our neighbor's daughter through the maze they set up, and then took some pics!  Next year Colin will enjoy it much more. :)

~We went to the doctor again.  Last week Colin's belly button had a little cell growth where it shouldn't be, so the doc had to put some meds on there to stop the growth.  We went back and it was better.  Colin weighed 12 pounds!  Big boy!  When we went back on Friday he was 12.2 lbs.!

~It's been nice out, so Colin and I have been going on long walks with our neighbor Kimber and her daughter Livia.  Fun meeting neighbors!

~Colin and I went to a park on Fort Riley for a little early Halloween celebration.  So fun seeing all the cutie kiddos in their costumes!  Colin wore an orange onesie and a green bib...pumpkin, right!!??

~We had a lazy weekend, and didn't go anywhere for the first time in a while!

~We took the newborn insert out of Colin's carseat!  It was getting a bit snug...

2 months old/9weeks!

Our little guys is 2 months old (October 6, 2012)!

~Colin is moving more!  I went to pick him up in his crib one morning and he was almost sideways. :)

~He sleeps in his blue sleep sack from Leah.  It keeps him warm at night!

~We went to Baby Rhyme Time at the library again, and he stayed awake and seemed to enjoy the singing and reading.

~I FINALLY cut Colin's fingernails!  We did it outside and it wasn't that bad.  He wasn't too squirmy.

~We had his 2 month appointment.  He was 11pounds and 8 ounces and 22 inches long.  He got 3 shots in his legs and 1 oral vaccine.  He cried like crazy when the needles went in (who can blame him!!??) but was fine after we snuggled him.  We gave him his first dose of baby Tylenol later that night.

~We went to our first "playgroup" at the park.  It was a book swap!  I held you and talked to the other moms, and we came home with a cool book!

~Friday Zach had off work (it's nice, whenever there is a holiday, the military usually tacks on another day to make it a 4 day weekend.  Thanks Columbus!) so I went to a yoga class at K-State.  It's a neat noon time yoga program.  Anyone in the community can come to the class.  It was nice to get out and get moving!  I was so sore the next day, Colin sure did stretch out my tummy muscles!  I hope to go a few times a week.  Grandma Janice's niece goes to KSU and is going to be our babysitter. :)

~Saturday Colin turned 2 months old!  We went to Tailgation (Runge's parents' tailgate) like we did in college, but oh was it different!!  We parked in the grass, had strollers, diaper bags, and stuff galore, and it was about 45 degrees and windy!  So fun to see friends!

~That night we went to KC to a wedding.  He was such a trooper!

~He is getting so big!  Still in size 1 diapers, and they are fitting much better.  I found a newborn diaper in the drawer the other night and put him in it...it fit but it was a bit snug! :)  He fits into 0-3 month and 3 month clothes.  We love the pajamas that zip up, so much easier than the snaps in the wee hours of the morning!  We need to get him a coat or something to wear when it gets cold.

~So...we're going to start using cloth diapers!!! :) Seriously.  Our neighbor uses them, and they've changed so much since what I thought they were- white cloth with clothespins.  It will save us a ton of money, and we're really excited about it!  For more info, and to help you realize we're not crazy ( :) ) check out this informative link http://www.cottonbabies.com/clothdiapers.php

Happy birthday Uncle Phil!
