29 Weeks

First week of the 3rd trimester went well!  Spent a few days in Manhattan doing the house inspection (everything went well), and doing the glucose screening and having my new chart made at the hospital on Fort Riley (we have an appointment with the doc next Wednesday.)  We spent this weekend lounging by the pool and enjoying the heat!

Baby weighs about 2 1/2 pounds now, as much as a butternut squash, and is about 15 in. long.  Other than occasional heartburn (thank goodness for TUMS!), some back pain, and constant trips to the bathroom, pregnancy is agreeing with me!  Zach is even trying to gain some sympathy weight so I don't catch up with him. :)

28 Weeks- on to the 3rd trimester!

This past week we've been busy!  We were able to spend Mother's Day with our moms at Tellers on Sunday (for the first time in many years!)

We started the week by house hunting with a realtor recommended by our bank, USAA, which is tailored to military families.  Well, he didn't work out, so we had to fire him.  He was so slow moving, and didn't know anything about us even though we'd been in touch by email with his partner for months!

A friend of Zach's recommended another realtor, and he's been great.  He is closer to our age, and is a very hard worker.  He is very motivated!  We did another day of house hunting with him, and ended up finding a house!  We put in an offer on Wednesday and it was accepted!  The inspections are next week, and we hope to close June 26.

Small world...the house is now owned by a girl I went to college with- she was a Chi Omega a year younger than me!

The house in in a really nice neighborhood, it's a little outside of Manhattan, and the house is only 3 years old!  All we have to do is paint some walls, and we'll be ready to go.

27 Weeks

We're home!  We flew in from Germany on Thursday, and stayed over in Baltimore for 1 night.  We flew into KC on Friday, and we're staying in Lawrence through the weekend.  Sunday we'll go to Topeka to stay with Zach's dad until we find a house in Manhattan.  Monday is our first day of house hunting with our realtors!

This week baby is 2 lbs, the weight of a head of cauliflower!   He's about 14 in. long.

26 Weeks

26 weeks!  And we will be home before the 27th week!  I've still been feeling good, lots of movement, heartburn, and a little swelling in the feet if I don't sit down for a while.  That will be easier now that I'm not working!  Friday was my last day.  I was sad to leave my kids and my place of employment for the past 4 years, but we are so ready!

We fly out on Thursday and will be in KS Friday afternoon.  We're excited to see family, check into Fort Riley, and get to the house hunting.  We're looking at buying a house, so we're ready to get started.  In the meantime, we'll be staying at Zach's dads house (they have a pool!!!! :) )

We've also got a lot already planned for the summer- housewarming parties, family visits, wedding receptions, showers, and more!  We can't wait to see everyone.

5-5-12: 26 Weeks

I forgot to get a picture with the shower hostess last week!

Our German friends/family in Frankfurt, Tanja and Klaus (Klaus is my uncle Rainer's cousin).  We'll miss you!

My Wetzel friends at our going away dinner.
